Ship Repair


UK Docks Marine Services operate two dry docks docking vessels up to a maximum length of 167.6m x 20.5m breadth and 150 metres of dedicated repair berths. Our ship yard is located directly on the North Sea on the River Tees is fully serviced with engineering and steel fabrication workshops and provide experienced marine engineering personnel and project management for dry dock requirements, vessel in-water repairs and refits and vessel mobilisations and de-mobilisations.

Dry Docks:

  • DRY DOCK 1 - 132M LOA x 18.6M x 7.9M DRAFT (Inside Breadth 22.6M)

  • DRY DOCK 2 - 167M LOA x 20.4M x 7.9M DRAFT (Inside Breadth 24.4M)

Both docks are fully serviced with shore power, fresh water, ballast water, sewage and waste oil collection.

Repair Berths:

  • Repair Berth 1 - HEAVY LIFT QUAY - 150m X 8m DRAFT (MHWS)

  • Repair Berth 2 - 90m X 4.5m DRAFT (MHWS)

Both berths are fully serviced with shore power, fresh water, ballast water, sewage and waste oil collection.

Services:

  • Ship repair and refit

  • Major conversion work

  • Vessel upgrades and ship life extension programmes

  • Installation of new equipment

  • Hull and tank blasting, preparation and painting

  • Engine and machinery equipment overhaul

  • Electrical, pipework and joinery installations and repairs

  • All steel repairs and construction

Facilities:

  • 600 m2 fully equipped steel fabrication workshop serviced by two 10 tonne DEMAG travelling overhead cranes

  • 500 m2 fully equipped engineering workshop serviced by fixed travelling overhead cranes

  • Dockside cranes - 1 x 140 Tonne LIEBHERR Crawler Crane and 1 x 100 Tonne LIEBHERR Crawler Crane

  • Mobile craneage up to 1000 tonnes

  • Dedicated offices for superintendents which include Internet connections and toilet facilities

Work Force:

UK Docks employ a dedicated workforce which includes project managers, fitters, steel fabricators, ships plumbers, riggers, tank cleaners, painters and shot blasters. All tradesmen are time-served and all welders are fully coded.
